"Shambhala"

I thought I'd start by explaining the name of my blog for those unfamiliar with the word and concept of Shambhala...

In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Shambhala, a Sanskrit term meaning "place of peace/tranquility/happiness," is a mystical kingdom hidden somewhere beyond the snowpeaks of the Himalayas, a community where perfect and semiperfect beings live and are guiding the evolution of humankind. It is thought to be both an outer place, and an inner one.

(Sometimes I think the inner one is harder to find! I'm a beginner at meditation ~ more on that in a future post, perhaps ~ so I must cultivate patience, grasshopper!) :-)

For more information, a lovely piece on Shambhala can be found here.

Good Morning!

I am not awake yet and I too did not sleep well. Same thing happened last year and I made it, so hopefully I will this year.
